Posted here because of a wider audience and not a high tech question.

I plan to buy one of these today for a birthday present. About £115 + bits so not super high tech. Just for general shots, parties, pets, holidays etc.

Anyone use one and have any comments please before I spend my pocket money? Will probably buy from Pixmania as they offer a 2 year guarantee.

if its anything to go by i have just brought a pentax m40 after looking at many other cameras and not knowing which one to go for this was by far the better speced for the price range, smallest and last but not least very easy to use, if that helps at all.

Thanks Gaz, Well I went and checked out the S10 and got one so I hope it turns out OK. It doesn't have a view finder which I would hate but I think my daughter is happy to work from screen view. I also bought a 3-year any problem including loss and accidental damage Warranty. I suspect that in a 3 year period it will get lost/dropped in sea/soaked in beer or whatever so we are covered on that. dl
