Default the Royal Air Force

You may well think I am biased but I make no apology for wishing the RAF a very happy 90th birthday today and add my full respect for all those who risked or lost their lives in our defence during all that time.

On a serious note, many happy returns and thanks for letting me loose in planes and gliders during my air cadet years!.

...and their colleagues in the Royal Navy and British Army still maintain that it was an April Fools that just got out of hand.

Just had eight or so jets fly over our house (north London) low and in formation. Very unusual, so either there has been a fly past or we are being invaded!

My Uncle Ernie was also in the RAF, he was a Flight Engineer on a Lancaster and based at RAF Stradishall during the war, sadly he died earlier this year but during his life he maintained close links with the RAF and was very proud of his time in service.

Happy Birthday RAF

My uncle served in the RAF and is a very funny and rude bu66er. Are the two related?

I've just bought Bomber Boys and am very much looking forward to reading about the stories of the RAF bomber crews who, with a very few exceptions, were over-looked during the 2nd World War.

I have nothing but the utmost respect for the people who have served
