Some of the guys have organised a poker game for real £££'s.

I could just give em my money and watch, lol but i think id enjoy losing properly.

Is there a free poker game i can play online or download and also see the rules, etc.

Its texas hold em if that makes any difference.

I was hoping there is an online FREE tutorial kind of game to play. Ive found a load using google but i know what the gambling world is like, its probably full of spyware/adware.

Sign up to any on-line site and you can play for pretend money (it's not the same as playing for real cash, but you'll pick up the basics

I would suggest that if you need to learn quick how to play it, for real money, then you will prob loose that real money quite quickly too

just turn up. If their good mates they will spend 5 mins on the basics first then learn as you go. Thats what i did and i was then playing pro after 6 months.
i used to go to a huge home game (30 + people) and every now and then a newbie would arrive and it was always easy to show them the jist and just let them drop in, dont sweat it.

Say good bye to your money, you can learn basics, you can learn what hands are winners and losers, you can learn it all but only with experience will you learn to fold aces at the right time and when to bet and when not to bet.

Otherwise Partypoker has free roll tables to practice on and its not as stupid as facebook when people bet with 7 2 off suit in their hand and stil manage to win betting through with a pair of 2's hitting trips on the river

There are bound to be some basic, "how to play texas holdem" type guides on the net to get you started. After you have some idea of the rules download any half decent poker client (full tilt, pokerstars, party poker, ultimate bet, etc) and play the 'play money' tables until you get a feel for the betting structure, what beats what, etc, etc.
