On behalf of a friend(AGAIN),anyone know where i can get the complete version of visual basic? and is visual studio 6 the same as visual basic 6?

Visual studio is the C++ development environment. If your friend is a student you can get the software at very reasonable prices from Microsoft. If your friend is new to programming then start on basic to give you an idea about the basics but move on to C/C++ as quick as possible. The best C book IMHO is the K&R book which is excellent. You might also want to look at java and .net but thse are a bit flash in the pan.

Visual Studio is actually the Microsoft Development suite, whcich contains Visual Basic, Visual C++, Visual Interdev, Visual FoxPro and other development tools and documentation. This is to be superceeded next month by the release of Visual Studio .Net.

Don't use VB.
Use Delphi. You can get it for free as well.
