Default Anyone had ear surgery?

More specifically the removal or operating on the eardrum?
Need to find out the possibilities of being able to fly with an eardrum removed.

Think I mentioned it before, but cant find it now lol. But its quite important.
PS, not me

Snazy, make sure you have a good surgeon, Prof Ramsdam from Manchester Royal is highly regarded in the Ear surgery world. I only know this because my Gran had a botched ear surgery which left her unable to walk without a stick due to them damaging the balance part of the brain which is near the left ear.

Cheers mate, but the surgery in question took place about 45 years ago Which is one of the things that has caused my mums lack of trust in hospitals and treatment.

Was just trying to research if she is allowed to fly with the eardrum and mastoid missing.

Alright mate. I was born with no ear drum and one of the 3 small bones you have in your ear having never developed, I have had 3 Mastoid operations on my left ear and multiple other surgeries but have never been stopped from flying. I used to be in the Air Cadets so did alot of flying there and never experienced any issues with my ear.

IMO I would say she should be alright to fly
