MGM Grand or Belagio/Cesars

MGM Grand just has to be done because of what it is/was although it is a bit south of the strip so a 10 minute walk to the shops at bellagio and Cesars

Belagio because it is so well done out and nice shops inside, the shopping mall next door in Cesars and location being smack bang in the middle

The Venetian is pretty impressive, it's got a canal running through it! The mgm has a lion habitat, which although unethical, is cool. Also the Stratosphere is worth a look, not for the hotel but for the tower which is something like 110 storey high and gives an incredible view of all of las vegas. Although it is at the **** end of the strip.check out Las Vegas Deals, Las Vegas Show Tickets, Las Vegas Hotel Deals | LasVegas.com if you haven't already.

Stay at the Wynn mate , I`ve stayed at most of the hotels in Las Vegas and its by far the best in every way , you can get some good deals if you register with them on line aswell . The new Palazzo looks good too and there are some cracking offers on for that at the moment. This was the view from our room in the Wynn last September :

Ive always stayed at the Sahara, certainly not the best, but that is reflected in the price

And it is at the **** end of the strip too, but close enough to Stratosphere and Freemont street

MGM is the other end of the strip and is a lot more than a ten minute walk (unless your running)

Belagio and New York New, York for me recently - both fantastic, but couldn't be more different.

Belagio is all about luxury and opulence.

New York is brash, fun and friendly. It's Coyote Ugly bar was a good night - especially when the stunners get on the bar and shake their thang. It's duelling piano bar is amazing too. Jay Leno brushed past me in the lobby with half a dozen gorillas in tow.

Do the coach trip to Hoover Dam and Lake Mead cruise.
Do the helicopter tour of Grand Canyon

I did the Lake Mead cruise in a Viper i hired and on the way to Hoover Dam i got stuck in traffic for about an hour and could no longer stand the missus whinging so i turned around and left with about half a mile to go wish i put up with the whinging now and just see it.

I did'nt like Coyote Ugly, thought it was too brash and loud ( i'm like an old fart) but then i was'nt drinking as i had the Viper outside

Thing is with that end of town its like old Vegas and a bit doggy. Stratosphere is definately a place to spend the day but i would'nt want to stay there. They are too old fashioned and dare i say it trampish. North end of the strip is like New cross, middle and south like the West End

Couldnt agree more

We walked back from Freemont Street to the Sahara one evening and it was a bit like a scene from the Zombie film in the shopping mall, every door way had a few people stood in them, and as we walked past they came out of the door ways and started to follow us

Saw quite a few professional pickpockets in action too along that road

It really depends on budget mate.

We stayed at the Bellagio with a lake view room - stunning.Sitting there with a beer watching the fountains (while the better half getting ready!)is just mesmarising(sp).

I love Vegas.

IMO the LUXOR is too top end of the strip. Once inside it didn't seem ery nice IMO

We stayed here, NEW YORK NEW YORK. not bad price either...

anywhere will be ok though as you'll spend the days in and out of other hotels looking at the free shows they put on.

Go here for a meal though

you get views like this at the top resturant

(me with the wife )

mke sure you go see this at the FREMONT

and of course this...

its all good fun though

We stayed at Bally's (the old MGM) which is well priced and a very nice hotel acorss the road from the Bellagio, next door to Paris and cheaper than either of them.

1) Wynn

2) Bellagio

3) Ceasers

Agree re stratosphere end, it is awful.

And make sure you breakfast brunch at the Bellagio, and take a meal at Aureole at Mandalay Bay, the best food in Vegas in my opinion, and wine list is amazing.

Another for the Bellagio, we had a penthouse suit which gave you a separate check in/out desk with free drinks and food and you also got taken to the front of the taxi queue which was nice on hot days. The price also included pick up and drop off at the airport by stretch limo

Just to finish off we went first class with BMI with no stop off/change over. I'm embarrassed to say it cost 6k for 4 days but was well worth it.

Imperial Palace. Cheap and very good position on the strip. Who cares too much about the hotel - you're not there to look at the inside of a room.

Definitely go to the Stratosphere though - that's awesome.

I can see what they have done, but in reality it is nothing like NY at all

I like the Luxor purely for the fact that you don't have to walk through a ton of slot machines to get to your room. If I didn't care too much about that I'd be in the Wynn.
