Default Lake view B&B rooms in Lake District

I'm coming back from HK next week and want to take my GF to the lakes and spend a couple of days there, anyone knows any B&B in the area preferably with a lake view from the room? Would like to be around Ullswater area but its not necessary.

Not a B&B but rented a nice cottage for a long weekend near Ullswater. Unfortuately I got the flu, and only got better for the drive home! Nice place though, I think it was through English Country Cottages if interested.

Ullswater is a nice area, was up there a few weeks back but not sure on which B&B/Hotels are near there - I spotted a few hotels on the main Ullswater road but have never stopped at any.

Depends on your budget as well - we had a lake view suite in the Old England in Bowness which isn't cheap but it was a half term treat for us.

Cheers for all the replies lads, but don't want a room with too modern decor, it'll just feels like I'm in any city hotels to be honest. So ideally it should be bit more rustique in appearance.

I'm taking my girlfriend to the Lakes this weekend, staying in a b&b in Windemere, so will report when I get back (on the accomodation of course ) Found the place on Lake District Hotels; Attractions, Events and Hotels in Cumbria but can't remember the name of it off-hand Its listed of having nice views from the rooms though!

Still not decided whether or not to put her on the insurance so she can share the driving

>> preferably with a lake view from the room?

Appletrees B&B in Keswick - ask for a room on 1st or 2nd floor facing south - looks over Derwentwater & south down Borrowdale. 5 mins into town.

Have you stayed there mate? As I'm struggling to find reviews for it on the net.

Yep - a couple of times. Typical B&B really - OK rooms, decent breakfast, owners pretty low key. Parking round the back or on the road (The Heads). Rooms are OK, but not especially 'rustic'. View is pretty good though, and well handy for town centre, Morrells is a decent restaurant just under the subway through to the TC.

Let me know if you need more...

Keswick is a lovely place.

Also try GlenRhiddings, its a small village on Ullswater but I noticed it had a few hotels when we drove through on the waters front, and there was a pub or two on the main road.

Try Rampsbeck Country House Hotel - Ullswater, The Lake District, UK

It was a bit too old style for me but good location and nice food.

Default No no no, anywhere but Land Ends.

Once apon a time this place was nice but I recently visited and the owners have changed hands and the place is a dump. The lodges all have dampness, mouldy showers and the beds, lets just say anywhere else recommended on this page yes, but not Land Ends!!!
