Dishwasher playig up ?
I gave her a back hander but she still refuses
We have a Smeg built in dishwasher that is 4 years old. I turned it off accidentally during mid cycle and the followig morning it wouldn't work. When it is switched on/programmed and the door closed, it starts up momentarily and the waste pipe can be seen flexing as it tries to emit the water(which it does slowly, eventually) and the thing just pulsates as the pump can be heard to start and then stop.
I have checked all the filters etc and the waste pipe appears clear and no kinks anywhere.
Anyone with any knowledge or previous experience?

Hello
I took my dishwasher apart because of strange errors, found lots of gunk, cleaned it and put it back together. It has been working for the last 6 months or so.

I had a similar fault, it would start, and the go to the end of the cycle after a second or two. I suspected the card, £115 on Ebay, but called a local repairer to make sure, he had replaced the card on two others, on the estate with 175 houses that if they opted for a dishwasher they would have the same Smeg model, one he never got called back to, so maybe that fixed it, but the other one broke the new card after 2 weeks, but was unable to find the primary fault that caused the card to fail again. He had later learned that the cards seem to be the main failing on the majority of failures with them. On that info I purchased a new Smeg for £285 of the net www.b&qappliancewarehouse.com some shops were asking £450+ for the same model.
