Tomtom vs Garmin?
OK, I've decided to get a sat nav, I want a simple, easy to use unit. I've narrowed it down to two, Tomtom one Europe and Garmin nuvi 250.
Any ideas? Experiences? Advice?
Thanks!

Ive run them both side by side for 2 weeks for my own comparison, there`s not much in it. Go to Halfords and have a play with both units for yourself.
I own the Nuvi 250

TomTom One (cheap, entry level edition) gets me to where I want to go with no hassle....why would I want more than that?

At the end of the day there are so many out there now, you just need to decide what you want from it, and choose the best match.
Neither Tom Tom nor Garmin are rubbish.
Do you need a photo viewer, MP3 player or any of that on there, or just route guidance?
Do you want custom POI's i.e speed cameras
Do you want it to be able to say road names or just "next left"
Do you need widescreen 52" or just something you can read clearly.
The less you say yes to, the cheaper it usually is And the less on there, the easier it is to use, and less likely to go wrong. Apply the same to mobile phones
Currently at Comet there are 15 choices of Tom Tom and 11 of Garmin.
Some will only have more maps on, but others have loads of different options.
Thats 26 options from 2 manufacturers!
Cheapest Garmin £139
Cheapest TOM TOM £119
