Now I'm not suggesting that what a housewife does is worthless, but to claim they have the same skills as a head chef and an accountant etc is pushing it IMHO.

Okay, so they've added up all the 'things' that a housewife does and she's worth £29k, but they forgot bedroom antics at £100/hour 
2 x a week! that's another £10k a year!!!
Or, is that £100/hour for 3 minutes 2 x a week!!!

Mind you, I suppose Dad's could counter that they have a kick about with little Johhny in the park and your average premiership football manager gets about £2 million a year.

i reckon at £6 for 15 hours 'working/on call' per day that's just under £33K a year.
remember if housewife is a mom, they're up at 7 and looking after spousal slob in the evening means they prolly don't get to bed til after 10. The hours are more like 6am to midnight.
pretty poor pay really for the total range of work they do.

Personally, I'd rather stay at home for £29K a year. Its not rocket science to look after a house and a small child.
Anyway, if they are that busy how come theres whole websites dedicated to bored housewifes?

I suspect that their reader catchment may be middle class women....
A musing I had a week or so ago which is relevent to this thread....I was waiting at a set of traffic lights in a middle-high class area, and noted a group of well dressed middle-aged women having a gossip on the street corner, after visiting the general corner shop. This is during work hours - so none work - obviously.
Every single one of them was holding a Daily Mail, and I thought "ahh a group of typical Mail readers"
I had to grin.

im a house wife and i get paid jack!!! i look after my little en ALL day and ALL night, this involves changing sh***y nappies, feeding, running round after them, cleaning up after them. as well as all this i clean the house, doing the washing and the house is always nice and tidy, then i make tea,whilst he watches dave, then bath the child, feed the child and put the child to bed!! then its time for me, and he wants sex!! i do all this and dnt get anything, if i cud out a price on it, it wud be more like £50k!!!!! its a bloody hard job!!!! like to see a man try it!!!
