There arn't any British Forces in Al-Anbar province; thats MNF-W (if I remember right!)
Thats not even a great deal of equipment, nor is it in anyway unique, as that video almost suggests - almost every FOB and major base has a section set aside with plenty of destroyed equipment in.

because we will try if possible to rebuild ours (cost a fortune to do and will end up like triggers brush 2 new handles and 3 new heads ), they just open the cupboard door and pick a new one off the shelf.
Should have seen the amount of Humvees left at Al's garage when we left, they just dug a big hole, shoved them in and buried them.

Jamie - I doubt if they're "left"; seeing as there's M1A1's in there.. and I think their armour is still classified.
They just tend to dump them in the corner of the FOB where they can have parts salvaged off them if needed.

There was one of those graveyards in the Kuwait desert near the Iraq border after GW1, was a lot of blown up vehicles of all sorts in it. Can't remember if I took any pics of it or not.
Wonder if one of those hummers belonged to the ex driver of some friends of mine who had her head blown off by a missile.

OK, here's a link to another graveyard. No deaths here, just stupidity.
Some of the machines pictured here had working lives of less than 7 years!

We used to do low level trips out of Tripoli over the desert and the moving sands often uncovered WW2 vehicles of one kind or another. I once saw a bare skeleton lying on top of the sand which was a bit disturbing to say the least!

Yep. Unfortunately, no-one thought to tell that prat Beeching, nor the government of the time, that if you cut the branches off a tree, it dies .
He closed the branches of BR, and it's been slowly dying ever since.
At least Dai Woodham at Barry saved a lot of locos. Around 70% went to preservationists.
