I personally would go to Geneva, went there with work in the summer and the place is unbelievable.
Alternatively, a friend of mine went to Egypt for his honeymoon for a Nile cruise

Dubai, amazing place and lots to do. We had our honeymoon here:

Much better than a boring remote island.

I'd go ............ straight down the motorbike shop!
Go somewhere you are unlikely to go ever again. Hawaii (Maui) is interesting (but feels more American than Hawaiian). Mauritius is pretty top end if you can afford to spend that much on a top notch hotel.

We bought a house instead
10 yrs later, still waiting for a "proper" honeymoon!
tbh, with my work, we went to a fair few exotic locations.... would have to be pretty special - after all, it's basically a sh@gging holiday!!

We did an all-inclusive in the Maldives for a little less on our Honeymoon - unbeleiveably romantic. You can do a cruise to a deserted island for the day. You're left food and supplies and NO ONE to bother you.

Another vote for Hawaii.
We stayed in Waikiki which is very commercial, all the choices of restaurants etc, but spent most of our time at other places around Oahu. Absolutely beautiful.

1. OP has a budget of £3.5K
2. Its a honeymoon
So for around 2.5K you can get 10 days in Barbados with Virgin Holidays (7.5 hour flight), upgraded flights (both ways) to Premium Economy (upstairs seats, loads of legroom, champers... just a lot nicer)...
And spend your time relaxing, swimming, eating and having romantic evenings (or dancing the nights away on lots of rum...)
And still have £1000 to spend..... it must be good as DCI and Simon Cowell go every year*
*Disclaimer: NOT TOGETHER

We had a similar budget and went to Bangkok (4 nights) , Koh Samui (8) and Phutket (8) . Covered flights and spending money at we stayed at decent hotels.
Would also recommend Hawaii though - We did Vegas & Hawaii a few years ago - Weather is great and its almost 30 degrees all year round.

Just booked a 3.5k honeymoon for August (9th - 23rd) this year...
We have taken a top deck cabin on the Island Star for 2 weeks around the med
We travelled on it in 2006 for a week in a cheap cabin and loved every minute.
We have chosen different routes to last time, but we know what to expect and it is perfect for us
Cant wait to land in Parma and get on the ship now!

Hawaii was OK, but it wasn't what I expected - as someone said, Waikiki felt more like the US than what you would imagine of "Hawaii" - I was expecting surfer dudes, surf shacks, etc etc but it was just like any other hot resort really and full of US eateries - McD's, Denny's etc.
The thing that made it for us was the Hilton Hawaiian Village hotel we stayed at which was just superb - without that it would have been just OK.

You could look at going to Florida if you have not been before do a week there and one in Miami on a 2 centre thingy, should be less than your budget which will leave you some money for he parks.

been looking at holidays and it works out about £1500 per person all in (iirc),
or zanzibar, for the £3500 you could have a private island thats right peeps, your own tropical beach island to stay on

Another vote for Hawaii. Fantastic place. We stayed in Honolulu, which is an odd place, skyscrapers and shops etc. then just beach! The rest of Oahu is worth a look. We also stayed on Maui, very beautiful. Drive up the road to the top of Haleakala (sp?) and stand on the edge of the incredible 7 mile crater where they trained the Apollo astronauts.
All very laid back, but not cheap.
Alternatively, I really enjoyed my trip to the Rockies in Canada. Totally different, but still a great place.

We considered Dubai, but were put off by all the building works going on there. It was covered on Holiday Hell (or something similar) the week we were looking.
We ended up spending similar amount going to Singapore, Hong Kong and Ko Samui. Again we wanted a 'one off' trip. Hong Kong was fantastic (but four nights was enough), Singapore was just one large shopping mall and Ko Samui was over used. I wouldn't go back to Samui.
