Question for the Doctors on ScoobyNet
A hernia is an abnormal protrusion of part of the intestines through a weak part of the abdomen, that is, part of the guts are poking through the abdominal wall. Normally, the front of the abdomen has several layers comprising of skin then fat then muscles and broad ligaments. Underneath all these lie the intestines (guts). If, for any reason, there is a weak point in the muscles or ligaments, part of the intestines push through. You can then feel a soft lump under the skin.A hernia strangulates when too much intestine has come through the gap in the muscle or ligament and then it becomes squeezed. This cuts off the blood supply to the portion of intestine in the hernia. This can lead to severe pain and some damage to the part of the intestines in the hernia. These strangulated hernias are uncommon and are usually dealt with by emergency surgery. However it is preferable to have the hernia fixed by routine rather than emergency surgery.
I've never heard of a perineal hernia, it relates to the area between you anus and tersticles.
Sounds more like perineal abscess

Whoo hoo - just got back from A&E - Awesome service. In and out in less than an hour and I only had to drop my bags twice and have two different female nurses poke around my undercarriage
Indeed you are right - it IS a Perineal Abcess - big ba5tard by all accounts.
I've been prescribed ERYTHROMYCIN (STEARATE) 5000MG 4 x daily (100 tbs)
Apparently I'll be back on form in a couple of days

my missus is a hair dresser and has had two of theese. both times the drug's didnt work and it had to be drained. as in cut open and all the fluid drained out. She was off for two weeks and is going in hospital on tue for the glad where the abcess is removing.
Good luck with it. I hope it goes well for you and it all gets sorted out.
apparantly its common in hairdressers because of bits of cut hair getting into glands etc.
