I have to say WHO CARES ! I'm getting completly fed up of this carbon footprint drivel been shoved down our throats. Instead of spending time working out this stuff - why not spend the time trying to persuade the countries that are the worst offenders !

"The cranberry sauce alone, normally imported from North America, contributes half the carbon footprint related to transport."
You can see why Hollywood goes with the "meteor crashes into Earth" story for end of the world movies. Bruce Willis battling the importation of yummy sauces to the UK to save the planet is not quite so exciting.

"The Manchester researchers estimate a dinner for eight generates 20kg (44lbs) of carbon dioxide emissions."
My methane output alone will dwarf that - you guys must try harder.
I'll have a **** off big coal fire going in the living room.
Both patio heaters will be on full blast all night.
All the lights outside will be burning 24hrs +
AND all my 'leccy stuff will be left on standby when I go to bed!

You are right. Then this guilt is placated by purchasing carbon offsets or paying carbon taxes. Al Gore will become even richer (His carbon trading company is based in the UK).

I saw something on tele where two ten year olds were arguing for and against christmas lights on houses and the one against used climate change as a reason not to have them
I just pitied her and found it disgusting that presumably her parents had brainwashed mistruths into her at such a young impressionable age...
Who cares about carbon footprints at xmas? or any other time for that matter?

Just typical of the bollocks the BBC chooses to publicise these days as it fits in nicely with their tree-hugging pseudo-liberal-green agenda.
and it's a clever conspiracy to raise taxes

What's the carbon cost of having a few drinks with friends, playing with your kids, making love to your wife?
Maybe there's something in certain people's psyche that makes them need to feel guilty. Is this the new Christianity?

I doubt if it was her parents; you just need to leave your kids watching Newsround and Blue Peter. The BBC propaganda machine will do the rest.
