BUYING AN IPHONE HANDSET ONLY NOT ON 02
Has anyone bought a Iphone, handset only so not on contract on the 02 network?
Looking on ebay but so many sellers, not sure which one is best.
I understand v1.1.1 phones are easier to unlock and 1.1.2 is harder but which is best?
Has anyone bought one and used it on Orange network?
Cheers

There is I-phone here Direct Distibutor of Apples, Nintendos, Microsofts and Sonys #1 Products! - Apple iPhone 8GB without exposure to E Bay and if you scroll down there is a link to an unlocking website.

Ok,I'm thick on technology.
Does this mean you can buy an unlocked i phone and stick whatever card you want in ? Even PAYG O2?
Its just that I thought you could only have an i phone here(uk) if you sign up to O2 at £££ per month for 300 years?

As can be seen on e bay most are imported from the states but UK type items are now beginning to circulate and the unlocking is now superior.

DIY unlock
Got a friend to buy me one in New York - €304 about £220. Followed the instructions here Unlock the iPhone - the simple tutorial! to unlock it. Takes about 15 minutes and you need to have a wireless network to connect it to for downloading the unlocking tools. Use it on O2 Ireland - iPhone isn't due to go on sale here until next year. No problems so far.
