Samsung 40" LCD TV
Just bought one and i was expecting much better picture quality than i'm getting.
I have plugged in my sky+ via a scart lead is there any other setup required to obtain a better picture
Nik.

You'll also need to do lots of playing with the options many with all the dynamic functions to get what suits you best. Keep playing, you'll get there eventually
Hopefully this is not an issue with the fabled Samsung panel lottery. Seems Samsung have changed the labeling and firmware so its no longer possible to find out if the TV has a Samsung panel or a Chi Mei/AOC panel instead.
And yes, crappy £3 leads are no good (cross-talk issues), Neither are the £40+ "Monster ones" (cut one open and you'll see they are no better made). A good £20 one should suffice - or build your own.

Ditch the ****ty scart lead and buy gold plated £15-20 lead
Set sky settings to RGB
Have a look on the AVforum site for reccomendations on the settings to achieve a good picture.
Feeding an HDTV with an SD input, your picture is never going to be perfect. You need either sky hd, an upscaling dvd player or a PS3/Bluray/HD DVD player to make best use of the tele.

Which model TV?
Bought mine 18 mths ago, was VERY disappointed. Found an AV forum thread where people had listed their settings, noted them all down, took the average, and set mine to it - WAY better.
