selling my car on ebay.some people have asked how much i really want which i told them.one person has agreed to pay this price and wants me to send an invoice for £50 deposit.once deposit is in my account ive to remove item for sale and he will collect at weekend with rest of cash.problem is ive never done this before and not sure the best way to proceed.ie how to secure a deposit from a genuine buyer.any help appreciated.what would you do? car is for sale at less than a grand.

give him your paypal adress and tell him to send you the 50 notes, job done

as above,tell him its not returnable tho if he doesnt show and will be back for sale by monday if he doesnt show,by sending you the payment he agrees to all conditions

If you're running an auction and it ends after he agrees to pick it up, keep it running. I've done exactly this with a seller on Ebay, offered £50 paypal and the balance by Friday. As long as you have no buy itnow option he should be ok with it, I am with my deal. You haven't listed a mk3 Golf 16v have you?
