Question My Tom Tom

Downloaded the latest update yesterday onto my Tom Tom.

Driving along the Motorway today and I heard a 'BONG' 'BONG' 'BONG' from somewhere ....... each time I went past 80 MPH.

It sounded like something under the car, it was so dull and quiet - but there all the same.

Finally I think, "I wonder if its the Tom Tom?"

Turned it off and the BONG BONG BONG disappeared .... anyone else noticed this 'new feature'?

Sign of things to come.

Except it won't warn you it'll just alert HM Gov. Traffic Control HQ to administer a hefty fine and 6 points.

I did the update on saturday then jumped in the Wifey's loan car (GOLF GT) and set off for a 60 mile trip, as it was cold and crappy I thought the beep was the car telling me it was 3 degrees, she drove back last night and the beeping was really annoying me (had a few pints) with the temp being 8 degrees plus I soon decided it must be the tomtom and not the car!!

Mrs hadnt heard it beep once and thought i was going mad when i turned the stereo off to hear the beep better!!

Cheers
AC

On the PDA, it shows your speed and the limit on the road, which then flashes red if you go over the limit. The downside is that the speed limit on TomTom isn't always correct. You can also set a speed at which the screen goes blank entirely as a reminder that you're being a naughty boy!

Either you think speeding is OK or you don't.

It's a simple question I thought you had already answered. Or is it one rule for you and another for the rest of us?

Speeding is NOT OK, in any shape or form, thats why I am so glad that the Tom Tom alerts me if I drift with the traffic over the posted limit

I apply the Police limits, which I think are fair ... limit + 10% + 3MPH

You can set the speed at which the bongs come in on mine (Tom Tom 720) - somewhere in the preferences menu - although if you're in an area where the Tom Tom knows the speed limit it will always warn you when you're exceeding it. You can also change the warning sound.
