Question Guinness Red

Has anyone tried it?

Had some at the weekend and it was lovely.

I find original Guinness a bit "sharp" - unless you drop a measure of Port in to add some sweetness

The new Red is excellent - thoroughly recommended.

Tried some free pints of it when our local (to work!) pub had it on St Patrick's day. Very nice and, as you say, not quite as sharp as normal Guinness.

Now you've given me a thirst - and it's nearly lunchtime. Happy coincidence!

Yet to find this out (was very squiffy on Saturday afternoon, only able to pint at the picture of Red on the bar as unable to speak properly).

Found this bit of info:

GUINNESS is going from the black into the red.

The world-famous stout, renowned for its black colour and distinctive white head, is now being launched in a red variety.

Guinness Red will be made from lightly roasted barley and will be on sale in some UK pubs during the next few months.

It is the first major product launch by Guinness since they brought out Extra Cold stout in 1999.

Industry insiders said the beer will have a distinctive red body but a similar white head.

The alcohol level will be similar to the standard beer at about 4.1 per cent.

Guinness were keeping tight-lipped about the brew yesterday.
