Default Roof and Home insurance!!1

My parents house is a semi detached and last summer they got a leak in the front upstairs bedroom. so they got a roofer out and checked it over and painted the flat room with the ronseal rubber stuff!

SO ..... a few months go by and it rains roof leaks again and they decide to go through the insurance, they send out an insurance approved company and they say that my the neighbours roof is the cuase of the leak. the joinning of felt is lifted on their side and ours is fine. the same back and front. They have been put off by our own insurance now since MAY as they can't fix the inside until the outsdie has been repaired on the neighbours roof!

Is their anything that can be done to ge this sorted out before the weather gets any worse? My parents seem to be getting fobbed off each time they contact the insurance company... Great at taking your money but bull at helping you out!!

Any idea guys and gals?

Thanks
S!

Not clear to me who is doing what. Are your neighbours getting their side done at their expense and soonish?

The roofer you got painted the flat roof (not room?) but didn't identify the cause of the problem at the time?

If I have understood your post then there is not much your insurance can do until neighbours pull their fingers out. I guess you could say that leak is causing increasing damage which might move things along.

Strictly any damage/repairs might be a claim on your neighbour's third party insurance rather than yours? dl

What are the neighbours saying about it all ? Do they have a claim in with their own insurers ?

The neighbours are the issue ....... not the Insurance Company!

when my flat roof leaked my insurers would only cover the damage to fixtures and fittings inside. i had to sell our second car and pay for a new roof myself
