Virgin Media, I had to laugh
Last night my Internet & TV went off, so did the usual reboot cable modem etc, but to no avail so left it
Nipped out to the shop a bit later, and noticed the big green exchange box at the top of my road, basically in bits all over the floor, concrete up out of the ground and glass everywhere
So basically someone had smacked into it with some force with a Bus, Van, car etc
So I thought I would phone Virgin to report it in case they didnt know about the major outage
On the phone I explained what I had seen, and the woman asked me to reboot my set top box, sure enough I got the TUNE message with flashing dots
She then told me yes there was a problem with the cable going to my house, but she has logged the call and it will be fixed shortly (within the hour)
I did explain to her that a new steel cabinet, new PCB's, Concrete a Concrete mixer, lots of solder and lots of new wires would be required, and the big thick cables coming out of the ground may need replacing too as these had also been severed
She said its ok, and normal service will be resumed lol
They havent even included it on the Outage section of the website either, and its still as it was last night, except someone has moved the cabinet back to roughly where it is supposed to be and not 20 yards down the road
Just made me laugh how she thought it would be a simple case of pressing a few switches and all would be back to normal again
