[rock music] Alter Bridge - Blackbird
New album released last Monday and hasn't been off the iPod since then. Not quite as immediate as their first album but it is a cracker - 9.5/10 Great band!

I think the only thing I would have improved with the production of Blackbird is the prominece of Myles Kennedy's vocals, they are sooo good. Have you seen the website recently? * * ALTER BRIDGE * * == pretty good!!

Thanks for that Frenchie.
Just going to order it now after hearing some samples.
I picked up Them Vs You Vs Us by Finger Eleven and End of Silence by Red while I was in the States last month. Not as heavy though, but they're OK.
Dave.

Haven't heard of either of them PFF but will head off to Amazon for a listen.
About Blackbird, first time I listened to it I heard a couple of good tracks, after 3 or 4 listens I heard a few more and then it just kept growing on me, more and more. It's great stuff!

Well Frenchie, AB just rocked Southampton Guild Hall
**** venue for acoustics but Kennedy's voice is awesome live, really impressed.
Definitely on my list of bands I'd see more than once.

DocJock, I'd *love* to see them live. How was the show? Did they just do stuff from Blackbird or did they do material from the first (great) album too? I read some live reviews and I believe they like to throw in a couple of covers when they play live?
There's a torrent out there of them playing the Mean Fiddler but someone said the quality isn't too good so I haven't downloaded it and I heard they were planning on playing in some far flung place in Switzerland but I'm tied up with family problems so can't get to see 'em but I definitely plan on doing so the next time they tour....probably easier for me to hop on EasyJet to London rather than driving half way round Europe

Set list (in no particular order) included
From One Day Remains
Broken Wings
Metallingus
The End Is Here
Open Your Eyes
From Blackbird
Blackbird
Ties That Bind
Buried Alive
Coming Home
Rise Today
One By One

MK also did a solo blues segue and I'm sure I've missed some out...
Loved it and my lad loved it, ain't music great?
BTW, they're playing Bristol Academy tonight and London Astoria tomorow if you can get a cheap flight

Just checked EasyJet and they want £227 for a one way flight tomorrow for me and my son. Um...maybe I'll wait for the next tour...they play Zurich on 1 Feb but I'm already taken for that Saturday

Guess I'll have to settle for a curry tonight DocJock and not the Astoria. I had Blackbird on the ipod in the car today and had forgotten about the 3 bonus tracks which I downloaded, did you also get them? If not I can upload them or send them to you by email.
