Cheap flights to Scotland
Going on 19th for a long weekend - surprised at the cost of flights - return, 2 adults coming in at £300ish (EasyJet), £400 (BMI) & £500 (BA)
Anyone know where to find them a little cheaper?
Cheers.

The more advanced your booking the cheaper it would have been also.
easyjet - Luton (not that far from LHR really) to Glasgow - return £54.00
just have a play on the cheap airline sites, you'll find something eventually

Ryan Air fly in & out of Prestwick (granted, they call it "Glasgow Prestwick"). it's about 1.5 hours drive to Edinburgh. for public transport from Prestwick you have to travel via Glasgow to Edinburgh.

In reality, not that much difference, especially as the train takes you to the centre of Glasgow/Edinburgh. Edinburgh Airport is a fair bit out, especially at rush hour (when Edinburgh's crap road infrastructure grinds to a halt)

Train from Kings X is 4.5 hours to edinburgh, i clocked this once when i had to do this regularly.
Flying from Gatwick means a train out to Gatwick, need to be there an hour early. Most times the take off is delayed as it is budget airline tastic. The flight is about an hour and fifteen, then there is unloading/waiting for luggage if any, then you have to get the bus from the airport (or an expensive taxi) which you might wait fifteen minutes for and then takes at least 30 mins to get you to Waverly where the train stops.
TBH there wasn't much in it and if you get a table on the train it is easier to work on the way up/answer phone calls etc.
That said, if the train gets delayed it proper gets delayed and can't make up the time as easy.
When we fly down now we go to City airport.
