Chesterfield settes...yay or nay?

Chesterfield settes...yay or nay?
For some time now, Ive bene pondering on whether or not to spalsh out on a nice set of new (ie not antique) chesterfields.....I think they look lovely, and are certainly a world apart from the chavvy DFS offerrings.....
BUT, Im not sure if they are really reserved for old people in old houses, as Im a young chap in an old house!....
So, I thought Id ask on here what the general consensus is regarding chesterfields.....(Ive never actually sat on one..are they comfy?....)

Only sat on my step-fathers Dads one when i was 12 ish - blummin comfortable then as i remember
