Hi all

Unfortunately my dad passed away very suddenly on Tuesday night this week.

Mum has told me tonight she wants me to contact an old friend of Dads who lives in Tamworth so I can tell him the funeral details etc . Unfortunately we have his address but cannot find his phone number and after many searches are still unable to find a number for him.

As the post are on strike I cant even send a special delivery letter either.

So, is there anyone out there who could drop a note through his front door with my details so he can contact me by phone.

If you can do this I'd obviously be very grateful as it would mean a lot to Mum if he could attend the funeral.

What have you used to try and find his phone number? Try BT or maybe 192. The free search on 192 might turn up his number, I just tried it for my brother and it pulled up a free directory enquiries search and listed his phone number.

Thanks to all that offered to help. The letter was delivered last night by " a little feisty" and I had a phonecall this morning at 9.30 from my dads mate offering his condolences and saying he'd be attending the funeral.

Who needs the post office when youve got scoobynet.
