Default Contraceptives used to control UK immigrant population...

That is the UK squirrel immigrant population - ie the grey ones - which are taking the place over from the native red squirrels!

BBC NEWS | Magazine | Can the squirrel problem be solved?

Can't remember having seen a poor red one for ages!

Bit late to do this isnt it? I remember the red squirrel being a dying breed back in about 1995, dont think Ive seen one since and I see squirrels almost everyday.

Was quite strange to see cute little red ones in Switzerland and Germany this year. They are a bit smaller than the grey ones and have little tufts of hair on their ears! SOOOOO cute.... I want one.

we have red squirrels round here, makes a change to see red ones instead of grey ones

maybe we should import continental red ones into England and try and repopulate, there could be a language barrier problem initially until the foreign ones learn English so could hinder procreation or at least slow off the mark courting

I am sure that there would be a problem!

chances are they would get offered all the best trees and nuts over and above the indigenous population and set up in their own squirilly ghettos apart from the locals and not mix.

Probably got all sorts of bad habbits and crime is bound to go up

There are probably lots of illegals here already - the goverment just cover it up.

I am sure you would infringe their rights under EU law or such like. Maybe red squirrels are seen as the equivlant of gingers and therfore the outcasts of squirrel society.

We've got them in the garden- probably because we live about a hundred yards from a red squirrel reserve

The wife buys a 25kg sack of nuts for them about once a month so its not really that surprising that we're popluar....

I often take the missus and the niece and nephew to the red squiggle reserve of which RRH speaks... In fact I was there only 2 weeks ago... We saw red squiggles, a fox, a rabbit and an ugly man walking a dog, before leaving the reserve for a spot of dune jumping
