Thumbs down Landrover issue!!

Hi,

I bought a Freelander 2 for the wife 6 months ago, but since then the car has been back three times to fix the same power stearing fault. Basically on full lock the power stearing goes completely and it weighs a ton. So parking is a nightmare.

So the stearing has gone again, where do I stand? obviously it is under warranty but It cant go on taking it back every other month!! Landrover just say bring it back and we'll fix it blah blah.

You'd need to consult a solicitor for totally accurate information but I'd think you have strong grounds for rejecting the vehicle on the basis that its been faulty from day one. Remember, its the dealer who's responsible for this as they are the ones supplying the vehicle so although it would be useful getting Land Rover involved they won't be held responsible.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Will do. To be fair the local dealer is very good with picking the car up, dropping of a courtesy car etc. Can't complain about that, I think a chat with the solicitor wouldnt hurt, see what they have to say.

Ask for your money back and buy something else!

I would if it was that easy. What happens when I traded an old car in as a deposit etc?

Freelander 2 is a completely different car.

Engine and running gear should be reliable as they are used across the Ford/PSA empires they are not the old Rover/BMW crap.

Sounds to me like they are trying to fix a problem instead of changing the faulty rack.

Cheers
