Skimmed at a Shell station.....
Had a new card arrive end of July (another frequent flyer one for more airmiles )
Used it once in august to activate it and get the 5000 miles for activating. Spent a whopping £1.31 on the card in a shell station near me to buy some water and a chocolate bar
Next day, £39.48 has appeared on my statement for 'europcar france corporate***********fr
Thats the only place I have used it...looks like shell are still having problems. Was done with chip and pin too!!!!!

Go back to station about, buy something and look at the machine to see if anything looks dodgy (esp if same chap serving you). If it does, then finish buying your goods, then phone the police there and then. If you're lucky the plod will come sooner rather than later when they've removed all the card reader/skimmer etc.

Collegue at work had a phonecall from his credit card company saying they put a stop on a £630 transaction through ebuyer. He has received his credit card (brand new) and not even activated it yet and never even used it... Coming from within the company maybe

Nope
I put it into the machine and removed it myself after entering the pin.
Categorically have not used the card anywhere else- either before or since. When it arrived envelope was undamaged.
Most strange.
Card cancelled, new one on its way now, and fraud department will 'be in touch very shortly'.

I had a card *done* once and, hence my comment above, think it was skimmed/cloned whilst in transit (i.e RoyalMail). Given the stories about crime and unions in the royal mail we've had recently, it doesn't surprise me. Problem is, how on earth do you prove it!! and when the unions protect their members EVEN WHEN they are caught bang to rights then the whole system is a fiasco.
Anyway, why don't banks send cards out recorded delivery or more preferably, pick up from branch only.
