Default Mortgage advice

Anyone been offered any good deals recently? Been offered 6.13% to borrow 18% value of the property over 8 years. Repayment, preferably fixed for 2 years, making regular overpayments. Cheers. Bob

People have already been banned already today for mentioning 'mongers'

Urban Dictionary: monger

Oh and for the original poster I already have a cracking deal, but got criticised for *****-waving the last time I mentioned the details, so I won't.

Anything under 7.5% seems good at the moment looking at some of the rates(Barclays standard 7.89%)

Bit different to a couple of years ago

Check on Unsecured Personal Loans, Life Insurance, Credit Card, High Interest Savings Accounts for best mortgage deals.

Best two year fix with no extended penalties around at the mo is Britannia at 5.49%.

We have one bit of our mortgage coming off fix at 30/9 and was at 4.44% and the second bit comes off at 31/12 and is 4.24%. Those were the days

Not sure how far this bloke travels but we swapped our morgage from interest only to a 25yr repayment fixed for 5 yrs, we are currently paying on our interest only £600 per month, and loan £200 per month and our repayment is £767 per month plus he saved us £20 on our live ins plus our kids are on it aswell.

personaly I find it offensive when used in an offensive way - ie most of the time.
wouldn't infract anyone for it, just think badly of them

Me too (4.84%) at the end of November.

Thinking of going for an Offset mortgage. Seems a good way of paying my mortgage off early.

I'm not bragging here, but I could just about pay my mortgage off now if I wanted to, but that would leave me with nothing in the bank (and I mean nothing). Offset Mortgage seems the best of both worlds. Pay off Mortgage early and still have all that capital in the bank.

Northern rock don't offer a fixed rate at 7.1%. You can have 7.09 or 7.14 fixed for three years. You could have taken the 5.59% and left out 'help with costs' unless your mortgage is very very small (in which case Northern Rock might not be the best choice anyway)
