I'm afraid I think the lack of response shows that nobody knows of anywhere you can rent digital cameras. I certainly don't know of anywhere.
Your best bet might be if you can find any professional camera shops that are used to hiring out SLR bodies and lenses - they might at least take the question seriously.
Failing that, you could always buy one and then sell it on EBay - if you buy a 2nd hand one to begin with, you might not lose anything on it at all.
Andy.

Above is all valid, the problem you may have is that professional hirers of photograpic equipment tend to like a refundable deposit in addition to their hiring costs - and the amount of such a deposit is normally the full price of the item you're borrowing!!
You could try asking one of the larger photograpic shops, such as Jessops, Youngs, etc, but be prepared to speak to a moron who can only speak in words of one sylabal. Wouldnt suprise me if they'll probably also want a similar deposit though.
Last option I would suggest is a local wedding photographers. Check out yellow pages and phone a couple to see if they'll lend out the equipment if they've got it. If the first couple start laughing though then you've probably got no option but to buy yourself I'm afraid!
