Hey, anyone got any ideas on how to stop a cat sitting on my bonnet?? Everyday i come back from work and there it is dirty paw marks all over the bonnet worse still it's scratched the paint! I know where this ***** lives and it's days are numberd. I have come home and caught it sat there all inocent looking, well that won't wash with me *****!

Today i came home at dinner and there it was paw marks all over so i clean it off. Come home after work and there back.
The bonnet wassent even warm after dinner still it comes to sit on it!! It's driving me mad i'm sure it's doing it to wind me up.

I'm not one to moan but this has now gone on for 3 months and i'm seriously contemplating getting the air rifle out.

Please someone give me a better idea on how to stop this pest before someone ends up petless.

Someone just asked this a month ago. General solution appeared to be put a plastic bottle of water on the bonnet - they don't like the light refraction. Haven't tried it meself. Tried blipping the alarm once, cat scarpered and left parallel claw marks in my paint in the rush. I won't do that again.

The unanswerable question to all cat owners and neighbours of such

You can try spraying them with water, putting a lemon or cat repellent under the bonnet/in scoop, but all will be largely in vain. Best thing is to Wax Wizard your bonnet very well so the marks just wipe off with a handy dust mit or keep your car in the garage!!

Question

Why do they do it, fair enougth it's warm at first but this cat is just taking the pi55. It sit's there even when its cold just lookin at me though i'm daft really getting my back up now to the point i'm dreaming about doing away with it.

Any animal phychologists on here?? maybe if i had a talk to it.

Seriously may try the water one tomorrow. failing that it's heading for a early exit.

I hate cats - cold, disloyal, and foul my lawn, it stinks.

If I thought I could get away with it I 'd happily use my Weiracht air rifle on them but I read a doctor nearly went to prison for shooting a cat with his shotgun in similar circumstances.

(Shoot someone for their phone and you'd get probation.)

My dad had a cat for 2 years, most the time it shat in a corner, bath, kitchen floor generally anywhere other than the cat tray, just wouldnt learn.

For the person of who needs to keep things in perspective......

Cats are lovely creatures a lot of the time, but they do indeed do some nasty things as well. I get the scratches and paw marks daily from our local cat at work. Lovely cat mind, but bloody annoying. Just leave him to it now, nothing really tom stop him.

I too don't agree with the killing animals thing at all, but I am sure that it was not meant seriously and they can drive you to the point of insanity occasionally with some folks.
I have a lovely cat from next door that ***** all over the front garden of my house. Digs a hole for it? I think NOT!

What you shouldn't say is that you hope somebody's family die in a crash etc in retaliation. That is OUT OF ORDER. Have a go if you feel you must, but don't post cretinous comments like that.
Keep it clean or get your 'hyper animal activist' butt off this post/BBS.
A little though beforehand tends to go a long way.....
Not meant to offend particularly, but don't wish things like that on people....
Cheers,

Nick.

Those that are animal activists are usually, ironically, aggressive, angry, personalities who have little problem being unpleasant and even violent to other humans. Witness car crash quote above and such like.

They seem to have problems forming succesful relationships with peole so substitutre animals instead. I suspect they may have had unpleasant childhood experiences, which is not their fault I suppose.

Ooooohhhh, Animal activists. Very touchy subject. Best avoided IMO. Don't even start me off.

Cryptwalk,

Just use the Force. Never underestimate the Power of the Dark Side.
eg - Cat sits on bonnet, walk up and wave hand and say, 'you will not sit on my bonnet'. The cat should meow twice and let you know it's worked. If it does anything else, then you know Sith mind tricks don't work on it.

Or the Water Blaster will work nice.

okay the animal psychologist would say that you have to get the cat associating the car bonnet with something distasteful such as getting wet
so you get a water gun/hose/squirter and set it up so you can see the car but the cat doesn't see you (this bit is important or it will keep using the car when you are not around)
and each time it goes on the car you squirt it - they usually learn pretty quickly that they get wet on the car

ROTFLMAO@sith thats what i like to hear.

Mr footlong i too thought that was a bit harsh, maybe you should edit such a silly comment ssubaru??

Dudes i didnt want this to get into a animal activist thread, i simply asked how to stop this kitty sitting on my bonnet. Shooting it was a joke and anyone who read it different needs to get a sense of humour.

For gods sake people lighten up.

You could pretend to shoot it! about 10 years ago I had this problem with nextdoors cat, It was always sitting on my bonnet/roof...so after tactfully trying to shoo (is that how you spell it?) the cat away, it decided to stay.
Then came a stroke of genius!!!
In a mad moment I picked up my air-rifle, checked to make sure it was NOT loaded, then poked it through my letterbox and pointed at Mr Cat and pulled the trigger.... Mr Cat nearly followed through!
I only had to repeat the exercise a couple more times for him to get the message!!

*TIP-make sure your neighbour does not see you do this...
