Default VIRGIN MEDIA!!!!

Hi guys, could do with some help.

Basically, we are paying for an internet connection that drops - to count - 19 times in the last hour. I work from home 3 days a week as a recruitment consultant so understandably I need to be able to use it when necessary.
I've spent the best part of the last hour on the phone to their off shore contact centre unable to understand what she was saying - paying 25p per minute! Don't get me wrong, I don't want to pay it BUT.... if they were capable of solving the problem i wouldn't object too much. In the end she hung up saying 'I have a bad connection'!!! I BET SHE DID!!

Does ANYONE (please) have a contact number for their head office or tech support in the UK that I can call on Monday?

It may take a while to respond as the internet connection is so unreliable.

Sorry for the rant but no one seems to give a toss and my blood and p**s is boiling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fingers crossed someone can help.

Kirsty

Try this as it for new customers, so you may get somewhere. Chances are there is no one to help you in England though, as is the case with so many companies now.

If you have no joy, might be best to go with someone else, preferrably with a UK call centre. I've had the same hassle with AOL too.

Any problems are usually at your end according to who you speak to, but in my experience, have turned out not to be.

If you rely on it three days a week for your business you might be better with a higher quality package designed for business from a provider with responsive customer service?

I had a lot of performance problems last year with Virgin, and the customer service was useless. After a few months it improved a bit, but if it was relying on it for my business it would have been a complete nightmare.

Its a Residential use service so they wont give a monkeys about your business.. Get yourself a service with an SLA..

I've been with Virgin since they were TeleCential in the 90's and I've never, ever, ever had a problem

Exactly!!!! The other half is an IT lecturer so is pretty clued up about it all - sorry, should have said but I struggled to see the screen for the blood running through my eyes lol.

I don't run the business myself but am lucky/unlucky enough to work from home. There was a time when the internet was as perfect as it could be so before this wasn't a problem.

We've just spoken to someone based in the UK and we're offski in 31 days!

Thanks again guys and girls

Customer service, for most companies, in my experience, is shocking nowadays.

It always helps when you can speak to someone who can understand you, and won't just read from a script.

Hope all gets sorted for you, and you can get back to your work, and a bit play.

Uncle Buck

Really, you have no idea. I have far too much to do other than post on here talking crap.

I asked for advice as I feel I am receiving no response from Virgin Media.

If my question seems somewhat sarcastic against Virgin Media, then I do apologise.
Us mere mortals do sometimes need a little assistance from people like yourself.

I sincerely look forward to the next intelligent response from you.

Lisa. no, it's not., really.

I only posted as I needed advice, that's all.

I've tried other forums too, but I hoped I may get a little help.

I'm not, only new and I'm very trusting.

If, I'm wrong, you'll have to keep me right then.

You and me both then Lisa.

I've read a few posts about him and from what I understand he can be a bit of a p**s taker. I think that's why the newbies etc get grief??

Anyway, never mind I'm sure like you say they will keep us right - hopefully lol

Oh,don't be mean , she's only asked for advice. At least she works, rather than robbing us of our tax payments.

If I insulted you I do apologise.

And after reading a few (past) posts between yourself P.S. Lewis I assumed you were being funny with me.
Like I say, if you are being genuine sorry for for the sarcasim.

Their tech support is crap since Virgin took over, NTL was ages to get through to, but were in the UK, were understandable and were better equipped to answer queries.

Oh and it's 50p per minute now

WTF is Branson doing? Offshore tech support, every Virgin advert featuring Americans..........is he *rse licking, or doesn't he care that he's supposed to be a BRITISH company?
