Private plate, do I buy it? £400
Its not a WRX or Scooby one or anything, more a peronalised plate than needs no messing about to make it say something personal.
OK one number could be shifted over slightly but does not have to
Do I buy it?
It can go on ANY car I own over a 55 plate......
Would you? If you had £400 spare right now?
Nuts, I meant to add a poll lol

I like private plates but not so much the new style.
Having said that, if it's obvious it's "special", go get it but if you have to explain it or point it out, don't bother.

Yeah I kinda make you right on that, but is says SNAZ which is what I have been known by since school days
And my initials which are slightly less obvious but personal to me. And added bonus it can go between cars.
Its not ageless though, and actually will make my 07 look like a 55 lol.
But sayin that they didnt make the Hawkeye on a 55 did they ?

I think Private Plates say something - but ONLY if you do NOT need to mess about with the letters/numbers/screw caps!!
If it's messed about with then all it says is Chavvie Wannabbee.
Mine just says P**ETE plain and simple

This one will say my initials, with a 5 making an S (not interested in sloping it, or mis representing it)
Followed by 5 NAZ.
So I think it follows the above formula. Im with you guys. Not into messing about with caps and screws to make something that its not.

Go for it mate, its what it means to you rather than anyone else.
can you advise me if it still costs £80 in fees above the price off the plate itself to get it put on your own car ??

NO!
MT5 NAZ or similar is NOT a private plate anymore than buying clothes from Asda for someone called George is private clothing!
At the VERY best someone may notice it and point out what a cool coincidence that it (sort of) looks like your nick name.....obviously, that descends from cool to ridiculus when you explain it cost you £400!

I think the relationship to EVERYONE knowing what it says, and understanding it, is dealt with by the term "Private" plate.
Some who I care to know will know, others wont, and need not to know
£400 is hardly a shocking sum of money these days now is it
As for the Asda reference, hardly relevant now, is it George
(just kiddin)
At the end of the day for an oldie like me, it just means I will remember by reg when I get stopped by the police for driving an Impreza, or whatever car I replace it with
**please note, this reply was put together with a LOT of Saturday night humour
Buying it Monday, there goes another £400

Wish I had managed to bag SNA 55Y a couple of years back, but it went for 5k in the end
I think this is a happy medium, not quite ageless, but memorable, and recognisable for those who matter
Easier for "Was it you" posts too lol
PS Thats also not the reg im getting as quoted Just an example made by other poster
Its not much more amazing than that, but suits its needs.

There are loads of "cheap" plates out there.
Was originally just thinking of a 5 character plate, so the front plate being smaller would be less of an issue so to speak. But then thought, if im spending any sum, it might as well be something "sensible"
There are cherished plates on sale at the mo, one letter one number, i.e E 6 for sums in excess of £150k...... worth it ??

K1 NGS was the most expensive plate ever sold by the DVLA Auction ... a cool £250,000
Now, that I seriously do not get!!
But a personal plate, at reasonable cost, and not messed about with is a luxury that is worth it if you don't suffer financially to have it.

Check some of these out, and thats just the tip of the iceberg!
Number Plates and Private Plates.
Its a way to make money disappear before getting taxed on it I guess. Investment of sorts.
