Garages and labour rates
Need to get cambelt sorted on the Pug and was wondering what the going labour rate is.
Been quoted £450.00 all in by the Pug Stealership all in.
Been quoted £ 40.00 per hour by Tyres Northampton which seems like a great rate, they recon on 3 hours or so. I have the cambelt kit (non-gen but a reccommendation from the 406 bbs) which cost £ 58.00, so looking at £ 180.00-200.00
showing a saving of £ 250.00+ over the stealers - less that half they charge
What do you pay for local 'specialists' working on you cars?

My only experience is servicing - I always get my vRS serviced at Star Performance. Last (30000 mile) service was £80-00 - and £45-00 of that was for Millers fully synthetic oil! I know they know my car - they tuned it - and a dealer service would be twice as much
My warranty isn't affected, and I doubt that "Star Performance" stamps in the service book are going to put many people off.

Hmm, Not had a problem and they have fitted gearboxes, clutches, etc before. I deal with Elvis (yup he has heard all the gags before) and never had a problem, infact he was the only person to correctly diagnose the fault(s) on our Mazda when the AA and the Mazda Stealerships both failed miserably.
