My 2nd car, bought when I got my first 'job'.
Should have kept it, decent ones go for more than mine was new!

I remember finding the Tickford Capri in my Observers Book of Cars and thinking it looked ace.

Thankfully my tastes have improved!

Aah a sunbeam lotus, watch the oil feed on that thing, apparently lotus sold the engine to talbot as it was known for the bottom end to dry up and go bang, shame as it is indeed a classic

Forgotten classic hmm has to be this although not forgotten as such

From a bit earlier, for me the ultimate cat in the 1960s was the Ferrari 500 Superfast. The one that got all the media attention was bought by Peter Sellers, and as kids my brother and I would fantasize about it.

Amazingly, years later when I moved to the south coast it turned out that the third owner of the car lived just over the road from me, so I even got to drive it

I went the RS 2000 MKII Custom Route (in Black, Choc Recaro interior), i preferred the shape to the Lotus Sunbeam. Both great cars

This thread would not be complete without

I always wanted an Aston Martin but still enjoyed my MK1 Lotus Cortina which was retty pokey when I polished and matched the inlet and exhaust ports, raised the compression ratio a bit and fitted Cosworth CPL2 cams. About 130 BHP+ which was not bad for a road car those days. It had aluminium bodywork and castings too so was a light car with outstanding handling. Anyone who saw Jim Clark or Graham Hill driving one of those round Paddock Bend at Brands absolutely flat or round Bottom Bend waving the inside front wheel about 2 feet off the ground will know exactly what I mean.

I always wanted one of these, a Triumph Stag.

There is a Lotus Sunbeam around the corner from me for sale.

SDi has been mentioned a couple of times. I had one (V8 3.5). Quite fast cos' it was tinny and if you went through a car wash you got pretty wet in the back

One i always liked but cant be bothered to look for a picture of was the:

Jenson Interceptor.

I drove one when i was 18 in Wilmslow and loved it, the name though was pure class.

Vinnie Jones has one in the AA advert i believe running through the forest in the rain.
