I used something that someone recommended from here a few months ago, begins with V though
Is fine for use with Pets, but not Aquatics, but Pets are fine once it has dried
I tried a blowtorch, and found it to be not that good especially for moss, good for other things

Sodium chlorite works very well, very cheap too However, like all weedkillers, it washes out and is biodegradable (I ask; what is the point of a biodegradable weed killer for paths? ). So if you get anything like the rain fall we've had recently, you quickly end up back to sqaure one.
If you have moss, like many weedkillers, it won't even sniff at it.
My supermix of Sodium Chlorite (6-8 dessert spoons per gallon), Jeyes Fluid (2 caps - 50ml per gallon) and Iron Sulphate (1-2 dessert spoons per gallon) is my all-in-one DIY path clear concoction.
Works well, but like many weedkillers, it does wash out in rain so until the weather stabilizers (will it?) don't try it. Also the Iron Sulphate is just for the moss, it can collagulate in the watering can (or spray gun) and if you use too much will leave brown staining, so only put it in if you need it.
Thread Hi-jack: If someone comes up with a solution for paths that permanentally makes soil infertile, I want to know...diesel is not a good Idea, seeing its my driveway and I sometimes don't hang about when I pull on to it

Sodium Chlorate - a non-selective contact herbicide, killing all green plant parts and has a soil-sterilant effect. It may persist in soil for 6 months to 5 years, depending on rate applied, soil type, fertility, organic matter, moisture, and weather conditions. It is highly toxic to animals and humans, breaking down red blood cells. It forms explosive mixtures so products sold as weedkillers have Sodium Chloride added to inhibit flammability.

Not in my experience. Even at super strength dosage the stuff washes out the soil in a matter of months
It may pollute well water or deep watercourses. But then, thats why we don't use well/ground water
