You'll get used to it.....and eventually the boozers catch on and spend more on air fresheners and carpet cleaning etc...
At least, that's what they did up here

I don't notice that in NY where it has been in effect for a long time.
People now need learn to wash, stop farting, use anti perspirant, and landlords need to clean the years of stale sh*t out of the carpets and crap off the walls.
May be too much for some of the more simple folk to cope with.

Wandering through Birmingham the other day I have never seen so many groups of people outside shops pubs etc having a cigarette.
Didn't think people really bothered with pubs any more now.Even those that go in for their heavenly smoke free Sunday lunch will be peeved when the government introduces its 'though shalt not have to many fatty yorkshire puds ' ban
Twits...sort out thick unruly, gobby children and scummy criminals then I will clap all your other policies.Which reminds me.....are the foxes all ok now? Phew

Old habits die hard and I think there are still quite a few soapdodgers still amongst the Brits.

Its a good thing IMO.
I smoke, but since the ban has come in I only have few a day. I've never smoked at home, nor in my cars btw.
Now when I go in the pub I don't join in with the 'flashing the ciggy's every 2 mins' thing as I'm fooked if I'm standing in the rain lol. I also don't have a cheeky few on the roof at work when no ones looking. (I'd be thrown off the job rather than bollocked if caught)
I've gone from 15/20 a day to just a few.

Its going to make a hell of a lot of people cut down which is a great thing!!
I used to hate going out and waking up smelling it on my clothes, in my hair, on my skin it was horrid, I might as well have been smoking myself!! I say rock on with the smoking ban!! best decision made!! I sort of feel sorry for you smokers but think how much better you'll feel for smoking less!!

I have noticed the truckers have stick 2 fingers up to the smoking ban! They are still chuffing away with rather large no smoking signs in there windows...

trouble is, in the nice weather, there's no chance of sitting outside without being choked with smoke
In central london, the streets are busier for people standing on them smoking.
And this exacerbates the problem of women who hold their own **** away from their bodies at right angles so that the innocent passers by get ashed/burnt.
as a non smoker: let them back in the pubs I say

We went to our local at the weekend, first time in 4 months since our little lad was born.
Not only was it a 5th as busy as it used to be, but the once decent pub stunk of toilets and ****
It's a very old listed building and usually very nice but it now just stinks - so much so, we had to go outside.

You lot need to ditch these old pubs and visit a nice local wine bar or two. The local one by me called the Blue Oyster is very hospitable. They'll bend over backwards to welcome you in!

I for one am pleased that the smoking ban was introduced. I can now wear the same attire as I wore the previous night - result. Even go a few weeks in succession without needing a wash. Just a quick spray of Brut or Old Spice and I'm sorted

With all of the smoking clientelle now standing outside you get a preview of the what totty will be inside so you can decide weither or not to go into a pub / club.

Our pub and club smell nice and clean Wooden floor in the pub and concrete one in the club so nothing soaks in and smells, and we invested in a new air freshener system for the toilets so no horrible smells there either!
