But if the pizza is over 30 mins, don't you get it for free?

The centre of Swindon is supposed to be pretty bad, though not as bad as that as far as I've heard. At 1pm all the roads were starting to get blocked, and water was 2ft deep in some streets. In Pinehurst the drains were looking more like geysers in the middle of the street, and I heard on the radio that some houses were being evacuated. Also loads of schools were closing early, and some parents at our kids school were saying they couldn't get home to Wroughton as the roads were blocked.

Sounds nasty, I'm glad I live up on a hill!!

This was the transfer bridges area on Great Western Way at about 1pm, they were letting cars creep through the shallower bits.

Sounds like a nightmare!

Like you say, you are safer and at least warm (?) and dry, but what if it gets worse and work gets flooded too? THe car will be foobared and the building will be a mess, I doubt there's any comforts there for sleep (if it comes to that) No food and the electric etc could go off!

Was going to say order a delivery LOL, but they would have problems getting it to you with the roads Anywhere nearby that's open that you could get some food from before it gets worse, or would you have to wade in it??

Could turn into a bit of a situation, this!

Been raining all day here too, but where I am doesn't look flooded, just some rather large puddles.

yup girlfriend works at UCAS up by the racecourse and they have booked staff into hotels because roads blocked and no buses/trains running so people cant get home. I cant even get from Gloucester to Chelt - gave up and turned round - every road blocked and the motorway both ways

Well, we could post him pics of really tasty food to see if that helps him?

and on a more serious note, start and look for somewhere that does serve food. Burger vans etc, even if they are closed. Knock on the door and see what they can offer you. If you have a few colleagues in the same boat (no pun intended) then they may open up and cook for you all

Curtis lives round the corner from that bridge

I was all right, had a bit to go through but borrowed the bosses mondeo so I could hydraulic that instead of my own car
Got off at Junct 10, all the way down to Princess lizzy way and then up through Benhall.
Going through Badgeworth was a bit but the engine was still running so I kept it behind the bow wave and kept going.
Took me an hour to get home, that normally takes me 15 mins.

Got home, my road is a foot under water (Gorse Hill), houses are being evacuated nearby and my garden is somewhere out the back!!! mate that works with me left to get back to Solihull at lunchtime. HIya Rigs Missus here, he is trying to get home to gloucester, if he cant get through hes going to turn around and stay at charlton kings area friends there. Heard golden valley is now drivable but very slow as its not too deep
our daughter wrote him a map to get home (shes 4) and told him not to go into the deep puddles or he will sink!
im sure he will let you all know when hes back, got a beer on standby so he better get here or ITS MINE!
