Why - it is a mystery to me, It is only the locals but even so do people like and trust Brown and his cronies - really?!?

Iif NL get in again for another term on power then i am off for good, Canada maybe if i can get in, Canada has real immigration and strict criteria unlike the UK.

They were both labour strongholds. The labour majority was much smaller than at the election.

voter apathy. Give us candidates with the minerals to say what we all think and they'll knock Labour off the spot.

Labours majority in Sedgefield was reduced from 18,000 to 12,000.

In Ealing it was reduced from 11,500 to 5,000.

Both seat are massive Labour strongholds, that have seen 33 and 60% wiped off thier majority respectively. I wouldn't be feeling particularly smug if I were a Labour party member.

Well, in Sedgefield and Ealing at least, Labour obviously are saying what most people think. And those that didn't vote obviously aren't dissatisfied enough to want to change things.

Labour WILL win another Term - of that there is no doubt whatsoever ...... when the chips are down, we ALL know who well we have ALL done under New Labour.

Our homes are filled with 65" Plasma Screens, we drive great cars, we have wealth beyond the dreams of most of the population of the world ......

And Paul Habgood will still be here, still moaning - for no more reason that Canada won't have him!!!

Of course there are things that have improved under Labour, and other things that have gotten worse - and many things that have stayed just as bad as they ever did despite having a lot of money thrown at them.

However, regardless of how well a given part is doing, it is phenomonally difficult to win a 4th term. You can no longer blame any failures on the previous government, because the previous government was...you.

We ar eheaded for a hung parliament in my opnion. No part will garner enough support to get a working majority. Especially given the overcrowding in the centre ground of politics.

One thing is sure, to say Labour *will* win the next election is a prediction reserved for Labour MPs and party fanatics alone.

Its not surprising the Conservatives did not score well since they shot themselves in the foot with their choice of leader! It is significant however to see the reduction in Labour's majority.

The other piece of news we had just goes to confirm the graft and corruption which now exists in the highest levels in this country

Labour voters stayed at home - they would have turned out if there was any chance the seat would be lost, so thats no shock.

What is a shock is that no-one felt badly enough to want to threaten the seat.

Labour will win easily a General Election ... better the devil you know!

And, some of us oldies have seen what the Tories can do and how they nearly brought the country to its knees ............ as long as we can wise-up the kiddies we shall protect the country from them!

Personally, I'm no better or worse off under Labour than I was under J Major & co. Although I don't think my roots would allow me to vote for Tory boy.

"I lead a modern, compassionate Conservative Party that looks to the future not the past. We want to talk with people about the things that matter to them, not preach to them or bind them with ever-more state intervention. We want people to feel that their politicians are doing the right thing and listening to them"

What a load of shhit

But look at the state this country is in now though. We have sunk to the depths of morality and it will only get worse when the next generation starts to have children. There may not even be any families left to become dysfunctional! There may be enough money floating about-on credit, but it will eventually all catch up. We are turning into a nation of chavs who will be monitored in every respect and controlled by a police state. The old British ideals have been thrown out of the window and we will just be a little part of the corrupt and all powerful Eu.

Is that what you want for this country?

These constituencies are full of people like you Pete. Held back by petty class hatred; theyd vote Labour rather than Conservative even if it meant that theyd be sent to the gas chamber.....
