Have you got a Cash Generator near you? They offered by far the best rate when I went away a few weeks back...

I always use travelex for foreign money Travelex United Kingdom

they offer both travel money and services for larger quantities, best rates I found when looking by far.

Actually it would be me. I need some pounds and if you're coming to Holland before end July, we could do a deal perhaps. Rate would be mid-rate of interbank quote and without any commission or charges of course on either side. Mind you though, would anyone really want to buy money from a 'bloke on the internet'?

Perhaps you could speak to your bank and see if they can compete with the specialist boys like Travelex? - watch out for hidden charges though

It's generally cheaper at the airport than the high street. Basically, a bit of competition = better rate.

Travelex charge different rates based on location and what the competition is.

An article in the Telegraph money section last weekend said that Marks and Spencers are the best at the moment.

Also ask travel agents for a preferential rate if changing more than £1000. You're sometimes surprised just how good the rate is.
