It's a 30 limit on that dual carriageway. I'm guessing that the van is actually checking cars way down the road from the camera, so just knowing that you need to be down to 30 when you get to the camera isn't going to work too well.

When there is hardly any traffic trying to go at 30 along there is really really hard...

Just to clarify on that photo,

the road isnt in fact a flat bit of road, the section with the scamera on is a quite steep downward gradient... just after the road crests out from an uphill section...!!!


if i recall, the road used to be a nat speed limit, ( main through route into s/hamton).. now its a 30 & 40 ... wonder why!!!!

It's 30 all the way into town from there because apart from the 50M you see in that pic it is a residential street.

Being downhill doesn't make it compulsory to speed you know, you can brake or stick it in a lower gear.
