Default Another income tax question

Looks like I'm changing jobs. Just finalising the details.

Can anyone advise about imcome tax.

For arguments sake lets say I'll be earning a basic salary of £40,000, will be contributing 8% to a pension and will have a company car valued at £20,000 with a CO2/emissions tax cost to me of about £140/month.

What will my take home be? All I can find are simple websites like i-resign for calculating tax, but these don't take into account the car, pension etc.

Confussed now

I hope your job doesn't involve number crunching. Seems pretty straightforward to me.

Free UK PAYE Tax calculator 2007. Updated for 2007 budget announcements

Work out what your tax code will be. Don't forget to add higher rate relief for pension contributions if appropriate.

It's easy if you know the tax rules and I don't hence the question.

P.S. Thanks for the help.

Not Enough...is my experience.

All the tax rules are on the web. Excel & Google are all you need. I'm amazed how many people have absolute faith that their company is calculating all this on their behalf with 100% accuracy.
