Theft from car in broad daylight.

Theft from car in broad daylight.
Jesus, what the hell sort of a world do we live in? My lad's just had his headunit nicked out of his Saxo, in broad daylight, in a crowded Wickes carpark.
He was only in the store for ten minutes to get his spare keys off his mate, and the carpark being crowded, never thought to remove the front off the headunit. I know there's a moral there.
Now he has a hole punched THROUGH the doorskin, and damage to the surround where the headunit fitted.
Best of all though, he came out to SEE the thief making off with his headunit on a pushbike, and gave chase, shouting to LOADS of shoppers to stop him, and NO-ONE did, or even tried.
SOCO due round in an hour or so.
Can't afford to claim on his insurance either

All part of this brave new England! We will soon be at the stage where if you dont hand over your valuables when asked by a thief, you will be taken to court for ignoring his human rights as a mugger by trade!

Well, SOCO have at least turned out. No joy, nothing to show.
Been to a bodyshop, £150 to weld a plate over the hole inside the door, make good and spray it. Or £150 a side to delock it and remove and blank off the doorpins. He's gutted. The ****** will probably sell his hu for £20. I HAVE alerted all the second-hand shops in town, though, with a crime number, and details of the hu, so if he tries to sell it on in any of them they'll inform the cops.
So.......a question. Will delocking and doorpin removal affect the MoT? The door DOES NOT open from the inside when locked, using just the handle.
TIA, Alcazar

Its this sort of post that makes me that it's 81 days and I'm out of here
Scumbags
p.s- delocking will not affect the MOT, and nor will a lack of doorpins. tried and tested.

I'm afraid we live in a society where to get involved coud mean a beating or stabbing.... especially a scrout who probably just used a sharpened screwdriver to get into your motor. Best stand back and let them on their way.

One of the nicest moments of my life was "accidentally" wheeling my empty trolley in front of a couple of thieves escaping at high speed on foot from a French hypermarket with arms full of stolen clothes and expensive boots.
They both went flying over my trolley, stolen stuff went everywhere, and before they could get up, the security guards were on them.
Brilliant.
