Guitarist's help PLEASE (Working out a tuning)
Can someone please tell me which tuning Ben Taylor is using in the video below:
MySpace Videos: Late Late Show Performance by Ben Taylor
I've played around with a few but just can't seem to get it spot on ???
Somebody else has asked for the relevant guitar tab on a guitar forum (just before anyone asks why I didn't post it there !!) and no answers have been forthcoming since August 2006
Thanks very much in advance for any help
Simon

My source (James Lock, son) advises me that: -
i have figured out the tuning, but i notice that he slightly changes every time he plays it (seen other performances on you tube). The reason why you may not of worked it out is because hes not in tune technicially, a electronic tuner will tell you he's wrong, but he is in tune with himself and the other musicans he's playing with, what he's bascially done is to tune every string down a tone, so E to D, A to G, etc, but if you imagine that as 100%, he's at about 75% if you can understand, lots of artist employ this 'out of tune technique' like Bob Marley or old Metallica, meaning playing along with them in concert tuning is impossible, but once you realise this, working out songs can be a lot less frustrating, hope this helps James

Please pass on my thanks to James...seriously appreciate him taking the time to have a look
I bought the acoustic version from i-tunes yesterday and between that, the album version and the live performance, I was still no nearer working it out
I'll just tune it down a tone and carry on from there....
Thanks

Song rather reminded me of his namesake - James Taylor.
Suppose you're bound to be able to sing the odd song when your mum is Carly Simon and your Dad is James Taylor (or at least, I'd hope so anyway !!!)
Thanks again David (I've been trying to work that out for a couple of days now...)
