Epox boards have two lcds that display boot progress. If the boot fails you can tell where the problem lies. FF just means that the boot/post was successful and control has been handed over to the operating system.

They are LED's not LCD's

FF signifies a boot attempt (INT 19h). I'm pretty sure on my 8kha+ that this value changes as the PC starts running. At the front of the manual there is a small FAQ and it would appear that if the display continuously displays FFh then there is a problem:
1. BIOS chip replace inverse
2. Update wrong bios
3. Mainboard problem
4. ADD-ON Card insert inappropriate.

(as printed in the manual - not my dodgy english)

I would suspect he hasnt seated his memory correctly, as this seems a common problem. I would remove all uneccessary hardware and start from scratch to get it to boot.

The manual has a list of post codes for the LED's and they can also be obtained from http://www.epox.com/html/english/sup...p?Article=1544

Nick,
The 'h' signifies the number is in hex, so FF on the display equates to FFh in the manual. Just ignore the 'h'.
