Default Most unrealistic advert on TV at the moment..

..the Kia C'eed.

Girl - "nice car".

What a load of absolute crap! She would say.. "Kia?, arn't they cheap things made in Africa or something... are you cheap?", and then block your phone number as soon as they get home.

This isn't anything bad about Kia's by the way - just a comment on the shallowness of your average woman

The Nissan 4x4 range advert.

There's no way they made it into a snake, crocodile, spider just like that, and still kept it moving.

Same with the Phone for U ad. A VW beach buggy, powered by an air cooled VW engine, but dubbed with a V8 for effect. It's put me right off Phones for U - crap company to deal with BTW

That is one of the most ridiculous cars ads (and it's up against stiff compeition ). Next time I'm stuck on the M25, I'll just press the rhinoceros button and head off accross the field Who needs roads. Why has the government not thought of this brilliantly simple solution to all our transport problems?

Richard.

PS Bring back the horse

I actually LIKE those ads: a "pulling machine" and then he's got to pull the ad trailer. Makes me laugh anyway. Yeeeeaaaahhhhh!

Why? Do you think companies would spend millions on advertising on TV every year if people didn't? I'm incredulous you would think otherwise.

Of course I am fully prepared to believe you go out of the room at every ad break or sit there with your eyes shut and your fingers in your ears until the programme begins again

Think ads are bad here? When I was in the States a couple of months ago I was amazed by the amount of ads for serious prescription only drugs.

But the best one was the one that started “If you’re having difficulty getting to sleep and this is causing you problems, try....”. A couple are then seen getting in to bed. A flying saucer descends, sprinkles some magic dust, and the couple enter a blissful sleep. At this point, a caption reading “Dramtization” appears! No ****, Sherlock! You mean that if I take one of these pills a flying saucer isn’t going to appear in my bedroom?

Also with an eye to potential litigation, the warnings that were listed were hilarious. Now, I’ll accept that some such as “Don’t take this medication if you are suffering from ...” make sense, however “May cause drowsiness” is probably a bit unnecessary for sleeping pills. If it didn’t cause drowsiness, I’d be looking for my money back.
