Default I pod problems

I'm having problems with my I Pod Nano,
Basicaly it won't switch off, I can pause the thing but it won't actually switch off.
I have tried resetting the settings but it made no difference.

I keep it in a speaker station type thing normally, so it is constantly plugged into the mains, don't know if this has caused it?

Any ideas anyone? don't really want to send it back to apple as it's not under warrenty.

try letting the battery go completely flat on it own, then plug into pc and try a restore to factory defaults via itunes

I've got the same problem today with mine. It always seems to do this after iTunes has been updated and it takes forever to re-sync everything! Hey ho, didn't need it this morning anyway!
