Default I'm on the verge of losing my flat screen virginity.

I'm about to take the plunge and get this
Panasonic Viera TX26LMD70 LCD HD Ready Digital Television, 26 Inch - John Lewis

But with a price-match hopefully around the £520 mark.

Its for my bedroom so a 26 inch is the biggest i want.A couple of Q's.

1.My dvd player is not progressive scan yet this LCD takes progressive scan. Will it matter.
2.Whats the best way to connect up a 2yr old Sony dvd player.
3.Any reason i should wait. Personally i think £500 is a decent price for a top brand LCD. Not long ago it would have cost a lot more.
4.Any super-duper model on the horizon that i should wait for (bearing in mind i've waited this long already).
5.It looks f0oking the biz. I cant bear ugly hi-fi.
6. Any other model worth looking at.

Opinions/criticisms please.

thanks
Paul.

I would invest in a Samsung HD870 HD upscaling DVD player. Bargain at around 50quid and plays divx movies too.

Upscales existing DVD's and will make the most of the TV.

Does this "upscaling" thing really make a difference?

According to the reviews, yes. A marked improvement over regular DVD output.
