that Y plate is great condition. must have come from the same Cologne factory the XR4i (my dad had one from '84 to 1999- only 86k miles on it when he sold it for the ST24, still as that now) came from, as they didn't rust like the cars from Dagenham.

More people would (rightfully) roll their eyes and think **** at all those people who turn up to 'cruises' to show off their chav-mobiles.
Sierras are now rare cars, owned mostly by enthusiasts (yes I can think of hundreds of cars I'd rather be enthusiastic about ) and like to be in the 'club', exclusive that it is.

The thing is, in 50 years time if you saw a Ferrari F430 you'd show it some interest, but (unless you're a lucky Ferrari owner) you'd only get misty eyed for some dull, unworthy fossil.
"Look Doris, an R Reg Toyota Corrolla. Remember when we used to take ours ******* to Talacre beach? Them were the days"

No sadder than SN !
Nice to see people keeping our motoring heritage alive, at least when they make the next series of Life on Mars they will have transport.
The Sierra is in that no mans land between semi classic and banger, a few of every car should be preserved, even Montegos, the actual car isnt important its the memories we have of them and what we did in them, I appreciate that the BL Princess was pretty crap but a lot of my childhood was spent in one, so its nice to see some eccentric keeping the sad old things alive in case I feel nostalgic.

Indeed.
There will be anoraks meeting up in McDonald's car parks in Mk1 Scoobs in a few years discussing how they can barely afford to keep it running now petrol's £55 per litre.

I see no difference to that Sierra Meet and plenty of Scooby Meets around the UK.
Where Oil is discussed, CockLinks are admired, heatsoak mulled over and all the other **** Claptrap .......
It's the feeling of being part of a club which draws people together .. the item of the club is pretty meaningless in actual fact.
If you are a 'Billy No Mates' you need these meets to add something to your life.
Rolling Road Shootouts spring to mind as a meeting of anoraks getting off on graph paper
