Have a listen - what do you think?
My daughter has just written and recorded another song. The link is below - I hope it works. Click on play and see what you think? This is a very rough draft - she plans to polish it and add some other instruments.
The last one brought some good constructive comments from some of you - thanks for looking again.......

I never click on links like this. But I did. I'm impressed. She has a good voice for someone who I imagine is quite young.
Slightly (very slightly) rough (but what do I know
) but v soulful imo, good lyrics and deff a song from the heart I'd say

Thank you - yes she is very young - just turned 18. And yes she openly said its a very rough draft.

You really are a nasty piece of work, unclebuck.
FWIW, I thought it was fine, and far better than most are doing at her age. The vocal style reminds me of Dolores out of The Cranberries, a bit. Well done to her.

She is working with a home pc and a nasty cheap microphone. She is taking a year out before uni and hoping to spend time in a studio to see what she could do given the right tools, amongst other plans.

Not listened to it yet, but will when I get 5 mins
When I first started recording on the PC, I used a few semi decent mic's going through a small mixing desk
Then I got a Focusrite Voicemaster (get them releatively cheap on ebay now) and a Rode NT2 Mic, vocals were transformed
(not mine I hasten to add, as I don't really sing)

Not to my taste, but good on her for having the guile to put her work on display in front of millions of people. I would like to listen to the finished product to see if my opinion has changed
